If Gypsies know anything, it is how to arrange things to have a good time. We wanted to use our powers for good, so we got together with some friends to throw a big, fat party. Ostensibly, it was a holiday party. But it also helped us mark our first year on the road. We gathered as many friends of Gypsies as we could and thrust them deep into a hot-n-sweaty get-down –as you know, you can’t stop a Gypsy party cause’ a Gypsy party don’t stop! We think we actually helped people make babies – that’s how powerful it was.

With Graypants, Urban Artworks and International Studio we threw a grand old dance party in Graypants’ SODO warehouse, where we spent a two-month stop on the Gypsy tour this year. Everyone was in a festive mood and wanted a party to remember. It’s all about collaboration and getting (it) together this time of year – and this party was definitely not just us … there was a ludicrous mix of some of the best peeps in Seattle, and we have them to thank for the amazing night:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Once again, collaborating with the boys at Graypants pays off – we seem to mix it up creatively in an awesome otherworldly way with those guys. Plus, it’s really nice to know someone with lasers and a space in which to throw a killer party (that isn’t the Tacoma Dome). If we’ve been jealous of any “office,” it’s been theirs. We designed some cool snowflakes and they used their laser-cutting brilliance to make them come alive. They also donated their space, tons of time and invited all of their sexy friends – which comes in handy, because all my friends are OLD.

We also had the good fortune to work into the mix Kathleen Warren and Urban Artworks. They were the beneficiary of the night’s festive snowflake purchases, and the proceeds from a raffle of a Graypants light. Heather Brincko’s photo work and beer donations were also key. En the end, without Kathleen it would have been half as bad-ass as it turned out to be. (Half of “bad-ass?” Half-assed.)

International Studio made it snow indoors with the snowflakes that hovered over the DJs as they brought the dance floor to a hot frenzy. Speaking of hot frenzies, a special shout-out to Tri and Kristina for throwing down the killer, booty-shakin’ beats.

If you were there, then you know how impressive the photo-booth and the display were. We have Patrick Richardson Wright to thank for that. He killed it with the projection on a massive box structure that Seth, Justin and I concocted over beers couple of nights earlier. Trust me, no one walked out of there unimpressed by Patrick’s magic.

In short, probably the best party we’ve had to date. We helped raise $2,000 for Urban Artworks and, if that wasn’t enough holiday cheer, we had a SWEET time doing it and making new friends along the way. Of course, a party isn’t a party without everyone showing up. They all made up a crowd of the sexiest looking people in Seattle. (Even my old friends looked pretty good. Or, at least, not too embarrassing.) We are eternally grateful for all those who came to party, we love each and every one of you – a LOT (And equally.)

Hope to see you and the next loco-party-explosion!

Here are a few photos to prove what went down.
